I’m Josh, the owner and operator of Pest Hero, and I live here. Pest Hero is based in Jurupa Valley near the Eastvale line, which means most of the city is a few minutes from my truck and I can usually be out the same day you call.
No call centre, no rotating technicians, no three-day window. You text me, I tell you when I will be there, and I am the one who arrives.
Nine communities, not one city
Jurupa Valley only became a city in 2011, and it is really nine older communities stitched together – Mira Loma, Glen Avon, Pedley, Rubidoux, Sunnyslope, Belltown, Indian Hills, Jurupa Hills and Crestmore Heights. They do not have the same pest problems, because they were not built at the same time. Knowing which part of the city you are in tells me a lot before I even arrive.
The older neighbourhoods – Rubidoux, Glen Avon, Belltown
A lot of this housing dates from the 1950s through the 1970s. Original weep screeds, crawlspaces, and utility penetrations that have been opened and patched over fifty years. That means more ways in, and it is why rodent work is so much of what I do on this side of the city. Trapping is the easy half; finding and sealing the entry points is what actually ends it.
The newer tracts – Mira Loma and the Eastvale side
Built through the 2000s, tighter and better sealed. The trade-off is irrigated landscaping on ground that was farmland a generation ago, which Argentine ants take to immediately. Ants are far and away the most common call I get on this side.
The Santa Ana River and the Jurupa Hills
The river runs along the south of the city and the hills sit to the north, and both are wildlife corridors. Properties backing onto either one see more rodents and ground squirrels, and they see them earlier in the season than the middle of the city does.
The rural-residential pockets
Parts of Jurupa Valley still keep animals on large lots. If that is you, the story is the same as it is in Norco – feed draws rodents, manure draws flies, and outbuildings collect black widows. Tell me what you have and I will plan around it.
Wasps
Under stucco eaves, inside patio covers and in the corners of block walls, right across the city. They build fast in late spring and summer, and a nest that was nothing last week can be a real problem by the weekend. Most take me about twenty minutes.
What it costs
Most pest control companies make you call for a price. Here is mine.
| Service | Starting price |
|---|---|
| Inspection | $75 |
| General insect control | $150 initial · $50/month or $130/quarter |
| Ant control | from $150 |
| Spider control | from $150 |
| Wasp nest removal | from $150 |
| Mosquito yard service | from $200 |
| Rodent trapping & monitoring | from $250 |
Final pricing depends on the size of the property, how bad the pressure is, and how easy the problem area is to reach. If it is going to cost more than the starting price, I will tell you before I start, not after.
How the first visit works
Call or text me and describe what you are seeing. I can usually quote you on the spot, and in most cases I can be out the same day or the next.
When I get there I walk the property first – the perimeter, the side yards, the eaves, the entry points – because where they are getting in matters more than what I spray. Then I treat, and I tell you what I found and what you will see over the next few days.
For ants and general insect work, expect activity to look briefly worse before it drops off. That is the treatment doing its job. For rodents I come back to check traps.

Common questions
Which parts of Jurupa Valley do you cover?
All of it – Mira Loma, Glen Avon, Pedley, Rubidoux, Sunnyslope, Belltown, Indian Hills, Jurupa Hills and Crestmore Heights, both the 91752 and 92509 sides.
How fast can you get here?
Usually the same day, and often within the hour. I am based in the city, not driving in from somewhere else.
Is the treatment safe around kids and pets?
Yes, applied properly. I will tell you which areas to stay off and for how long – usually until it is dry, which is a couple of hours. If you have a specific concern, an aviary, a fish pond, a pet that grazes the lawn, tell me before I start and I will adjust.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Monthly and quarterly plans are available because they are the cheapest way to stay on top of ants, but you can cancel any time and one-time service is always an option.
What if the pests come back?
Call or text me and I will come back out. I live in this city and nearly all my work comes from neighbours telling neighbours.
