I’m Josh, the owner and the guy who shows up. Pest Hero is based right on the Eastvale–Jurupa Valley city line — about a minute from Eastvale. Your neighbors are my neighbors.
That’s the whole reason I can usually get to you the same day you call, and often within the hour. No call center, no rotating technicians, no three-day window. You text me, I tell you when I’ll be there, and I’m the one who arrives.
Family-owned, honest pricing posted right on this page, and no contracts you have to fight your way out of.
What I actually find in Eastvale homes
Eastvale is a specific kind of pest environment, and it comes down to how the city was built. This was dairy land and farmland until the late 1990s. Then the tract homes went up fast, and today most of them are somewhere between twenty and thirty years old — right at the age when the small gaps start opening up.
Argentine ants
By far the most common call I get here. They nest outside in irrigated landscaping and come indoors in trails when the weather turns hot or the sprinklers change. Because Eastvale homes share block walls, a colony doesn’t respect property lines — which is why spraying the trail you can see almost never fixes it. The nest is usually outside, and that’s where the treatment has to go.
Roof rats
Eastvale’s tile roofs, attic vents and mature landscaping are close to ideal for roof rats. They travel fence lines and tree limbs and get in through gaps you’d never notice from the ground. If you’re hearing scratching overhead after dark, that’s them — and trapping alone only buys you time. Sealing the entry points is what actually ends it.
Wasps and paper wasps
Under stucco eaves, inside patio covers, in the corners of block walls. They build fast in late spring and summer, and a nest that was nothing last week can be a real problem by the weekend. This is my most common same-day call, and most of them take me about twenty minutes.
Spiders
Mostly a web problem around eaves, patio covers and side yards. Knocking the webs down without treating the surface just means they’re back in a fortnight. I do both.
Mosquitoes
Eastvale sits along the Santa Ana River, and the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District covers the city — it has run wide-area treatments here in past seasons after West Nile virus turned up in local mosquito samples. The district handles public sources. Your own yard is still yours, though — standing water in plant saucers, clogged gutters, an untreated pool, or a low spot that holds sprinkler runoff. That’s what a yard service is for.
What it costs
Most pest control companies make you call for a price. Here’s mine.
| Service | Starting price |
|---|---|
| Inspection | $75 |
| General insect control | $150 initial · $50/month or $130/quarter |
| Ant control | from $150 |
| Spider control | from $150 |
| Wasp nest removal | from $150 |
| Mosquito yard service | from $200 |
| Rodent trapping & monitoring | from $250 |
Final pricing depends on the size of your property, how bad the pressure is, and how easy the problem area is to reach. If it’s going to cost more than the starting price, I’ll tell you before I start, not after.
How the first visit works
Call or text me and describe what you’re seeing. I’ll usually be able to quote you on the spot, and in most cases I can come out the same day or the next.
When I get there I walk the property first — the perimeter, the side yards, the eaves, the entry points — because finding where they’re coming from matters more than what I spray. Then I treat, and I tell you what I found and what you’ll see over the next few days.
For ants and general insect work, expect activity to get briefly worse before it drops off; that’s the treatment doing its job. For rodents I come back to check traps. If something’s still going on after a treatment, tell me and I’ll come back out.

Common questions
Do you actually serve all of Eastvale?
Yes — the whole city, both the 92880 and 91752 sides, from Hellman Avenue across to the 15 and everything between the 60 and the river.
How fast can you get here?
Usually the same day, and often within the hour. I’m based right on the Eastvale–Jurupa Valley city line, about a minute out — not driving in from Orange County like most of the companies you’ll find online.
Is the treatment safe around kids and pets?
Yes, when it’s applied properly. I’ll tell you which areas to stay off and for how long — usually until it’s dry, which is a couple of hours. If you have a specific concern, an aviary, a fish pond, a pet that grazes the lawn, tell me before I start and I’ll adjust.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Monthly and quarterly plans are available because they’re the cheapest way to stay on top of ants, but you can cancel any time and one-time service is always an option.
Can you do a one-time treatment?
Absolutely. Wasp nests, a single rat, a spider problem before a party — plenty of my work is one visit and done.
What if the pests come back?
Call or text me and I’ll come back out. I live and work in this area and nearly all my work comes from neighbors telling neighbors, so leaving a job half-done isn’t something I can afford to do.
